Books of Hubris is an episodic dark fantasy RPG. We use multiple mediums for storytelling and worldbuilding, including play-by-post prose, tabletop-style role playing, invented historical documents, digital art, and more.

Our stories take place in an original setting, the Republic of Enemies, best described as a nobledark fantasy world with aesthetics inspired by the 16th and 17th century of our own world, but without concern for true historical accuracy (after all, this is a fantasy!). This is a world that is full of terrifying and tragic things, but nestled among the darkness are glimmers of hope and beauty.

We are looking for members who want to explore themes such as: cycles of violence, familial bonds, the price of power, the overwhelming nature of instincts and emotions, and what (if anything) separates humans from monsters.
